The passion between Biarritz and surfing is great. For good reason: from the Grande Plage to Ilbarritz, the seaside offers numerous spots with very different characteristics but all equally pleasant. This variety attracts surfers from all over the world who find, in the resort labeled City of Surf - 2 stars, facilities that meet their expectations. In addition, near our hotel residence, many schools offer courses and workshops for beginners as well as more experienced surfers, of course, but also bodyboarding, longboarding or stand up paddling.

The surfing culture, its history at the Basque Coast, from yesterday to today: the surfing spirit that has reigned in Biarritz for 60 years... Reconnect with the tradition of this emblematic place where the Waikiki Surf Club was created in 1959, the first surf club in France.

 

A popular destination for the English since the 18th century, Biarritz was one of the first continental cities to have a golf course. Today, the seaside resort has two exceptional courses on the ocean shore.

The Historical Museum of Biarritz is an associative museum full of charm and treasures where you can discover the history of Biarritz.
For this you will go through different eras that made Biarritz what it is: Biarritz village of fishermen and farmers, Biarritz city of heart of Eugenie and Napoleon III, Biarritz and the Roaring Twenties or Biarritz and the world.

The Imperial Chapel through the first steps of Eugénie de Montijo in Biarritz in 1834. From the imperial domain to the Spanish-Moorish and Roman-Byzantine styles, this unique architectural jewel in the region reveals its secrets.

Erected in 1834, 73 meters high above sea level and proud of its 248 steps, it dominates the Cape Hainsart, so called in the past because of the oaks that surrounded it and which have been replaced by tamarisk trees.
This cape marks the limit separating the sandy coast of the Landes from the rocky coast of the Basque Country.

TheBiarritz Aquarium opens its doors to you for an original discovery of the sea bed.
In the center of Biarritz, facing the Rocher de la Vierge, the Aquarium of Biarritz, with its Art-Deco building, invites the public to discover 50 aquariums. The visit begins in front of the Bay of Biscay tanks: jellyfish, octopus, seahorses... to discover the species that inhabit the Atlantic coast.

Very nice and lively place in the center of Biarritz, full of smells and colors to stroll around, do your shopping and come and taste some tapas in the numerous bars and restaurants located all around.


Les Halles de Biarritz are open all year round, every morning.

Les Chemins des Lacs, new walks in Biarritz, from Lake Marion to Lake Mouriscot.

Three new walking routes around Lake Marion and Lake Mouriscot are now fully operational. The project named "Les Chemins des Lacs" proposes three loops of 8 and 5 km through a completely rehabilitated course.
